The unequal distribution of medical professionals between urban and rural areas remains a challenge in many regions worldwide.
Hamburg leads with the highest doctor density at 2.95 per 1,000 residents, followed by Berlin at 2.61 and Bremen at 2.52. At the other end of the spectrum, Brandenburg has the lowest, with just 1.61 doctors per 1,000 residents.*
However, this challenge presents an opportunity for innovation. Digital healthcare technologies have the potential to bridge the gap between urban and rural regions, providing a lifeline to those in remote areas by delivering medical expertise and services beyond geographical barriers.
By embracing the potential of digital health solutions like home testing, remote monitoring, and other innovations, we can bring quality care to underserved and remote communities. These tools not only improve access but also create a more equitable and inclusive healthcare system.
